I Don’t Want Your “Business Suite”

I decided to open up a separate checking account for my business to simplify accounting. I never wanted Bank of America’s “Online Business Suite”, however when the rep at the local banking center told me it was “free” I told her, “Fine, sign me up”. A month later, I was charged a $15 fee for the service I never wanted. I called up Bank of America, spend 45 minutes on the phone with them, and finally got the $15 back. Now, how do I get the 45 minutes of my life back?

  1. For the third month in a row, I received this fee. When I called into their customer service line, the rep refunded the fee and promised me that the fee wouldn’t appear again. An hour of my life, gone to waste.

  2. Four months in a row now this fee has appear in my account. I called customer service. They refunded the fee and promised me it wouldn’t occur again. I told them, “That’s what you said last month!” They told me there is no record of me calling. I told them, “Okay, do you see the $15 debit from my account last month?”

    Customer Service: “Yes.”
Me: “And do you see the charge credited back to the account a few days later?”
    Customer Service: “Yes.”
Me: “Now what do you suppose that is all about if there is no record of me calling.”
    “Customer Service: “I don’t know.”

Another hour of my life gone to waste.

  3. Finally the fees stopped, for a little while. A few months later, they started up again. I called up their customer service line. We went thru the same routine. 30 minutes later, the fee was refunded. “Talk to you next month!” I told them before hanging up.

  4. The fees stopped again for a while. But it looks like they started up again. I am beginning to wonder if Bank of America just sneaks these small fees in all the time with the hopes that most of their customers won’t notice them and then refund them for only those who do. 20 minutes of my life, wasted with Customer Service.
